How to Survive Simon's Rock

Navigating Campus

I know better than anybody that the map of Simon’s Rock thrust into the hands of students on day one is confusing. Even the administration is aware of their signage issue, but that has taken a while to change, so I am going to try to offer a temporary solution! (We will see how this goes...) Here are some places to know around campus transcribed in a textual map:
The usual map, to remind you, looks like this:
Picture
It covers the entirety of campus, but it is likely that, in your first few weeks at least, you will not interact with all of it. Here are some helpful landmarks that you might need right away...
Picture
Picture
This (above) is Fisher, the science building. If your class is here, your schedule, SRIS, or Moodle will say “FSH” and then the room number. You know you are here if you see a big dinosaur skull through the window. There is a tree swing right next door.
Picture
This next picture is of Kellogg, the music building. Often times, the opening remarks for the year are often made here. Other than this, it is usually the home of community council meetings and choir/orchestra classes. Right across the road is Blodgett, which is easily the most attractive building on campus, as well as a gazebo-esque structure.
Picture
This is the walkway that leads up to the DAC (Daniel Arts Center). You know you are in the right place if you feel like there might be rodents in a concealed location somewhere near you. Also, it is across the street from the Mods and is next to a parking lot. As the name suggests, this building houses art classes.
Picture
This is the other side of the DAC.
Picture
These are the Mods: apartment-style dorm buildings that house mainly older students. The Mods were just rebuilt last Summer. They are in between the SU and the DAC.
Picture
This is the SU (Student Union), as viewed from the lawn next to The Dining Hall. You know you are here if you can smell the remnants of past dining hall meals.
Picture
This is one of the Tridorms, Kendrick. It is in between Crosby and Dolliver and directly faces the dining hall, but has a hills-worth of separation
Picture
This is Crosby, another Tridorm. It is closest to the SU.

I hope this short summary helps ease a little up-front confusion!
