Did you know: "CAD" stands for "Charles And David", the two original founders of the paper?
In 1824, two explorers named Charles Woods and David Arnott were exploring the forgotten woods of western Massachusetts. Stumbling upon a flat space along a river, they founded the town of Great Barrington. They wrote a letter back home to attract settlers to their new town, and signed it "—Charles And David". This moniker would be used to mark their later communications with the outside world. Almost 200 years later, their humble letter home has blossomed into the foremost newspaper in the greater Simon's Rock metropolitan area.
