The outside of The Great Barrington Bagel Company can be described as rather homey. Sitting across the street from the Big Y, it seems small, even lonely. However, the inside is anything but. The staff are friendly and helpful, ensuring great service for all customers. Small tables and chairs line the edges of the shop and a newspaper stand sits next to the register, full of local journals. The shop exudes the calm collectedness of Berkshire County.
The shop has an extensive menu with everything from a plain bagel with butter to a white fish and avocado sandwich on an egg yolk bagel. Regardless of your taste, the menu has something you’ll love. Simon’s Rock professors clearly agree, as was attested to by the presence of not one, but two professors ordering their breakfast to go.
If the The Great Barrington Bagel Company has any fault, it is its distance from campus and working hours (generally between 7:00-4:00). However, if you have a chance to catch the bus to Big Y I would definitely suggest stopping across the street for a snack at The Great Barrington Bagel Company.
