If we can forgive each other our idiosyncrasies
If we can speak and listen with equal opposite fervency
If we can do away with subtlety and not have to obsess
If we can find beauty amongst the cluttery and cherish the whole mess
If I can help you to radically accept yourself and you extend that labor of love
If we can trust each other to be there, no mind put to osprey nor dove
If when you’re trembling from overwhelm and cannot take my hand
I can reach out with words and begin to understand
If I can show you what I cannot say
If you can tell me what you cannot feel
then maybe somewhere there’s an inkling of hope...
